I haven’t had much time to revel in Spain’s victory over Germany on Wednesday. If you haven’t heard of Paul the Octopus, you gotta check this video out.
Lots of work to do — planning for the Tipsy Toro World Cup Fiesta tomorrow. Now it’s time to go buy the Cava and Beso de Vino and start cooking. Fellow revelers arrive in just over 24 hours. And a really cool part? It’ just so happens that friends from Spain are in town too, so we’ll get to enjoy the game with them. Well, we hope the game is a pleasure. Let’s not get tooooo cocky.
So the menu? Spanish food of course! We’ll be doing our favorite Albondigas recipe (Penelope Casas´recipe for little meatballs in a wonderful almond sauce), Tortilla (a Spanish piece of art made with just potatoes, onions, and eggs – I’m not going to give you a link to that one because that will be a separate video post soon), Ensaladilla (Russian salad – go figure, it’s a favorite in Spain and I can’t find the best recipe online so I’ll type this one up for you – AFTER the match!) and who knows what else in addition to the authentic Chorizo and Jamon Serrano that we’ve ordered from Delicias de España.
No time to talk. Gotta go cook. And find face paint — in July, in the U.S. That one may be a challenge….
