Today´s the big day at Pamplona, right after the “Chupinazo“. Viva San Fermín, Gora San Fermín!
During a whole week Pamplona will be filled with people, music, food, drinks and bulls running sharp every morning at 8 am!
The origin of running in front of bulls came from the medieval era, when farmers use to bring along with them the cattle to the festivity and had to run them through the center of the city until the place where they kept the bulls. There´s still lots of similar festivities, not saying bull fighting which personally I don´t like it, like in Segorbe (Castellón)
The route starts in “Corrales de Santo Domingo” and goes all the way through different streets from the old town until the bull fighting ring. A total of 875 metres.
And because, in order to hold yourself for the party, you must then eat good and these are some of the typical food to try: Huevos fritos con Chistorra, Pochas, Bacalao Ajoarriero, Estofado de Toro o Magras con Tomate!
If you don´t want to miss the running of bulls every morning, you can enjoy it live through RTVE´s Youtube Channel. Make sure you´re watching at least 15 minutes earlier so you can hear the people singing a traditional song to San Fermín to bless them before start running.
